Full Submission: I think it would be interesting from a writer’s-point-of-view if Bates actually did kill his wife. It would definitely be different from the (more or less) same old “Bates the good, honorable, self-sacrificing servant” routine. And honestly, unless the writers decide to make him a psychopath, it wouldn’t ruin his character at all. I love Bates, but I also love interesting plot twists. And let’s face it - Vera had it coming.
